Light of Hope
An estimated 700,000 beggars live in Bangladesh. Young women from impoverished families are vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation. The Light of Hope Learning Center is a day shelter that provides girls with an education, life skills, health care, and moral training. Each girl learns that she is wonderfully made and that she has great potential for living a transformed life.
One such girl is Bushra. At five months old, Bushra became an orphan. Her grandparents took her in and cared for her without any outside help, but now they are elderly and sick. They can no longer provide for her because their illnesses require expensive treatments. Bushra has begun creating handcrafts at the Light of Hope Learning Center. Her salary gives her the opportunity to help her family and to continue her education.
