CWJC of Madison County, Alabama: Rejoicing by Creating Earrings

With the help of Christian Women’s Job Corps of Madison County, Alabama, women are being equipped with essential educational, employment, and life skills. One artisan says, “Through this program, my faith has gotten stronger and I don’t have a lot of fears I used to have because it was hard for me to trust.”

Providing Essential Skills

Located in Huntsville, Alabama, CWJC of Madison County provides intensive courses completely free of charge. Each student is assigned a mentor, and each mentor is committed to a one-on-one relationship to help build the student’s self-esteem, self-confidence, and skills essential to success in life and work.

A representative from CWJC of Madison County points out, “The participants of our program come from a variety of backgrounds. They are primarily interested in entering the job market for the first time, re-entering a career after a lengthy absence, obtaining better employment, or furthering their education.” By offering these opportunities for women, they are able to impact 350–400 people annually.
