Introducing Christian Women’s Job Corps of Monroe, LA!

CWJC of Monroe, LA and WorldCrafts bring their artisans hope for the future.

We are so excited to introduce you to our new artisan group, Christian Women’s Job Corps of Monroe, LA!

Christian Women’s Job Corps (CWJC) of Monroe, LA is a program dedicated to healing women holistically. Begun in 2010, this ministry provides women the opportunity to prepare for the High School Equivalency Exam (HiSet) and to obtain job skills training.

But job readiness is not where it all ends. Women who come here find encouragement and love. They study the Word together regularly, and they learn their true worth.

“It’s not just about finances or making products. It’s about love and giving back and paying it forward. It’s also about building self-worth and building character and spreading [the Father’s] Word and His love.” – CWJC of Monroe, LA artisan

Tonya Hancock, director of CWJC of Monroe shares Jeremiah 29:11 every day. She wants each participant to know that “they are not a mistake. [Our Father] loves them and we love them. All things are possible through Him. Through this they begin to have hope and begin to dream of a better future.”

What this Partnership Means

CWJC of Monroe, LA
The partnership of WorldCrafts and CWJC of Monroe, LA brings beauty into the lives of their artisans.

One artisan arrived at CWJC of Monroe, LA homeless, hopeless, and hungry. The opportunity to become a WorldCrafts artisan offers her a living wage to meet some of her needs. More than a living wage, she is learning to have hope because someone believes in her.

Another artisan is raising three children alone. The week Tonya Hancock offered her the opportunity to become an artisan, her job washing dishes at a nursing home had been cut from 40 hours to 16 hours per week. This job had provided steady work for seven years. Because of the WorldCrafts partnership, she knows now that her Father is supplying her needs.

This artisan says the partnership with WorldCrafts “has given me self-worth and the belief that with [my Father’s] help I can do things I never dreamed I could do. I take pride in what I am doing. I pray for the person who will purchase the item I am making. I ask God to bless them and their family, and I think Him for allowing them to be a blessing to me and my family.”

She continues, “This partnership will help other women like me get to a better place in their lives. It’s not just about finances or making products. It’s about love and giving back and paying it forward. It’s also about building self-worth and building character and spreading [the Father’s] Word and His love.”
