Baptist Church at McAdory Hosts Benefit for Children and Family Ministries

Baptist Children's Homes
Join us to support at-risk children and their families both here in the U.S. and around the world.

The first WorldCrafts Benefit for Children and Family Ministries has begun!

Many thanks to The Baptist Church at McAdory in McCalla, Alabama, for diving in to help us get this initiative under way. Twenty percent of all sales generated by this benefit will go to Alabama Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services.

Sharon Syx, WMU director at the church, says of the initiative, “We recognize that our Father desires all of us to take responsibility in caring for children and showing them His love. He tells us in James that true religion occurs when we care for the orphans and widows. And, of course, who could ever forget the poignant story of Jesus telling the disciples to allow the children to come to Him? We are excited about this opportunity to help children in multiple ways – by helping artisans’ families around the world, and by helping children right here in Alabama.”

Pastor Bill McCall shared that his heart’s desire through this initiative is to bring his church to a greater understanding of God’s heart for impoverished people both here and abroad.

Ways to Promote a Benefit

There are many way to promote a benefit for Baptist children and family ministries:

1. Host a party and learn more about our artisans with your friends.

2. Invite your friends for a Bible study fellowship and unpack Psalm 82:3-4 together.

3. Is your church a sending church? Check out our countries page to see if we have artisans in areas where you are sending or supporting those who share eternal hope.

4. Have you adopted people groups for prayer? Look at our artisans page to see if we have artisans in those people groups.

5. Ask your WMU director if you can share about WorldCrafts and this initiative with your Women on Mission group.

The Church at McAdory kicked off their initiative by using our bulletin inserts, media slides, and an announcement to help the church understand the ministry of WorldCrafts. They are continuing to raise awareness of the initiative through social media and in their weekly newsletter. And, they featured WorldCrafts in their Women on Mission meeting this month.

Pastor Bill McCall shared that his heart’s desire through this initiative is to bring his church to a greater understanding of God’s heart for impoverished people both here and abroad. The church will join him in praying that each person helped through this initiative will come to know and accept the eternal hope that is offered by the Father.

How to Host a Benefit

Would you like to host a benefit? These simple steps will get you started:

First, complete an online registration form by the 15th of the month prior to the month you wish to host the benefit.

Second, be on the lookout for our email with a link to your unique web page, promotion code, social media posts and images, and other promotional materials.

Third, gather a team to help you plan ways to promote the initiative in all of your church’s gatherings. Think of promoting the initiative in all of your worship services, Sunday School classes or small groups, women’s ministry events, brotherhood events, and the list can go on and on!

What happens After Your Benefit

Following your benefit, WorldCrafts will send a check for 20% of your proceeds directly to your selected Baptist children and family ministry. You will receive an email to tell you how much was donated, along with a few fun ways to share your results on social media.

What a great way to share hope and love with people here and abroad!
